Peter Freund is a media artist, curator, and scholar based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He works principally with film/video in single-channel and installation formats and has exhibited internationally, including the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. His current research focuses on the ethical function of the lapse in experimental art practices.

Peter Freund is a professor of Art Practice at Saint Mary's College, where he teaches the history, philosophy, and practice of media art.
