The End of an Error
[Video installation]
The 1954 Army-McCarthy Hearings marked the unmistakable beginning of the end of the “Red Scare” period in the U.S. This three-channel video installation explores the phantasmatic character of historical memory, the question of pleasure in objective accounting, the importance of the irrelevant detail in the photographic document, and the problematic relationship between historical and narrative time.
