"As an educator, I aim to expand the aesthetic and ethical horizons of my students while encouraging their agency as artists in society. My courses are typically hybrids that wed critical thought and art practice. I emphasize the art of creative extrapolation, moving students from concrete works to carefully-articulated theoretical concepts and technical skills to focused experimentation and back. In my media arts courses, we investigate digital technology (and its integration with traditional approaches) as form and process that exert influence on content and significance."
